It dawned on me when, a few hours go, I stopped at Zumi's coffee shop for the required mid-day caffeine fix, that I needn't have brought my lptop: I got the Touch out, and started reading my NewsGator-synced feeds (NetNewsWire, on the “essentials row”), checked out the restaurants in Buffalo for next week's TypeCon (on the PDF handily transferred with FileMagnet), read up on an article on my local Humanist association I had saved a link to on InstaPaper, dropped in and out of a Twitter stream through Twitteriffic, and superimposed a sketch of my route from Ipswich to Plum Island Sound on a Sketches map of the area 1)
Then I “excercised my brain” (read: wasted time despairing at how easily I get beaten at Reversi and 4-in-a-row by the computer), before picking up my spirits with the less-demanding Sudoku and then really wasting some time with the “Wii-wanabe” Cro-Mag Rally.
Plus, the cloud now manages my separate calendars correctly, all my IMAP accounts sync in near-real time with the Touch, and I'm only left waiting for the good people at Cultured Code to fix the syncing of the indispensable Things with its iPhone/iPod sister.
So, I'm one more step closer to living off the aforementioned cloud, my spare change kerrchings (?) in the till of the App Store, and the only tiny detail that's left needing attention is all the actual, you know, content I'm supposed to be generating.
